What is Auriculotherapy?

Developed by Dr. Paul Nogier in the 1950s, auriculotherapy is a therapeutic intervention which targets health conditions and cravings by stimulating reflex points on the external ear. Imagine that your brain is a computer and inside this computer is a map of the body. What if there was a keyboard access to this computer? We would be able to directly affect the brain through the use of this keyboard. This is the neurophysiological theory behind auriculotherapy. The nerves originating from ear reflex points are projected back to the brain. This effect allows us to use the ear as the keyboard, giving an effective way to communicate with our brain's computer. The AuriFlex™ technique targets reflex points in the ear related to craving and addiction resulting in a release of feel good chemicals from the brain. This surge in feel good chemicals causes a reduced need for addictive substances like food, cigarettes drugs and alcohol.
